01/29/2007 The Caviar DietThe Salmon and Salad Diet, developed by Dr. Ronald Hoffman, may be one of the best diets around for eating everything that's good for you and nothing that's bad. The Little Pearl is developing the Caviar Diet drawing upon the Salmon and Salad diet, South Beach, and The Zone's Glycemic Index research. The idea is to identify those key foods that provide essential nutrition but are free from common allergens.
The Salmon Caviar Diet seeks to maximize the intake of omega-3 fatty acids, balance sodium intake with potassium and other salts, and eliminate allergens. Most Americans have mild allergies to common foods like wheat, eggs, soy, and nuts. The side effects are often negligible. However, we are searching for some core foods that anyone can fall back on for a few weeks or perpetually to maximize their nutrition. In other words, what are the perfect foods for every human. Not surprisingly, this offers a lot of healthy sounding foods like broccoli, kiwis, and salmon. And, of course, salmon and trout caviar which are very rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
This is a research and development phase some Little Pearl employees are volunteering for. Well, at least Richard Brauman will be volunteering. You will be able to read about their experiences on our web log and a website to be published in February. If this proves to be a valuable and realistically feasible system we will seek endorsement from leading nutrition experts and appropriate government bodies.
Currently, we endorse a balanced diet that includes whole grains, nuts, eggs, and soy. However, we recommend consumers determine if they allergic to them through medical testing and reduction trials. If eliminating a food from your diet for a few weeks reduces a minor discomfort, you may be allergic and should consult your doctor. Ultimately, eliminating the food from your diet should not be necessary and may not be advisable, but you might not want to consume it everyday. |
